“The biggest predictor by far of future happiness is present happiness” — Peter Gray

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Thanks to everyone who helped us get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! We represented for Wildwood and for hellbenders, connected with our community, and had a ton of fun on a beautiful sunny day!
  • Just a reminder, please let us know no later than March 30 if you are planning to enroll for next year. After March 30 we will open up remaining spots to new families. We are working on the registration forms and will get that out to you soon, but in the meantime please just email us to let us know your plans. We are also asking for a $150 deposit to hold your child’s spot, which will be reimbursed to you at the end of next Wildwood year. If you have any questions or want to talk about your situation for next year, please call us to talk anytime!
  • We still have volunteer openings for the last hour of Buildfest, to take down our booth and pack up supplies (2-3pm)…you can add your name here if you’d like to help.

Hi everyone!

This past week was full of exciting activities, and we are thankful for Marie, Corrie, Melanie, Angela (and her friend Jordan), and Ali who came and volunteered their time with us! Check out the photos below to see some of what we’ve been up to. There was a lot of knitting, cooking, painting, recycled art making, dramatic scene creating, math game fun, matchbox car playing, science exploration, spaghetti/marshmallow structure building, and pi measuring… (I may have been slightly over the top excited about pi on Pi Day, I’ll admit, but it sure was fun :)…and we discovered that Owen White can recite 41 digits of pi by memory!!!). We were also so glad to welcome London back after 3 months away (and celebrate his birthday!). And in the midst of all this, kids have somehow been fitting in planning sessions for “be the change” projects and filming a video for Rocky Knob to help them access grant funding for expansion… Whew!

This week we’ll start with a field trip day of visiting the ASU Geology Department (and their rock garden and awesome museum) and exploring on campus. We’ll also be having our first book club meetings, starting to plan our pollinator plant-a-thon fundraiser for Earth Day (more info will be coming soon about that), expanding on some of the activities we enjoyed last week (more recycled art, static electricity experiments, etc.), and hopefully getting outside!

Hope you all have a wonderful week. Happy Spring!

Rebekah
